🔬 Student Spotlight: Sherry Mi ’26

Inspired by her family’s experiences with cancer, Sherry Mi ’26 has pursued cancer research since summer 2024. Her work examines why immunotherapy is effective for some patients but not for most.

Through independently designed experiments and research conducted beyond campus, Sherry investigated whether disrupting DNA repair in colorectal cancer could improve responses to immune checkpoint blockade. She expanded this work through a Fall 2025 Independent Studies Program, Cancer Immunology Practicum, which culminated in a manuscript and an illustration-rich poster.

We are proud of Sherry’s initiative and curiosity and grateful to Ms. Boulay for her mentorship and support.
