If it doesn't fit you when you walk, gesture, shake hands, sit, or dance, then it does not fit you.

I've actually seen the opposite advice. Some weirdos have said you should stand perfectly still when trying clothes on, because nothing fits when you're moving. That's nonsense. Just ask Gene Kelly, Chris Rock, or Will Smith.

Now, the Spectre rooftop suit is too easy to take potshots at, it wasn't even close to fitting Craig while he was standing still. But you should still look out for egregious signs like this, including lapels bowing out and a significant collar gap. Do note that ready to wear Tailoring is limited. You're not going to get the perfect shoulder slope or armscye. But you should try to get as good a fit as you can.

Button ups are an easier example. Unless you plan to stand up for the entire time you spend out and about (not recommended by any medical professional I've spoken to, even if you're rocking new balances), you're gonna want to know what they look like when sitting. And we all know that situation where the buttons ripple out is pretty nasty, right? Yeah. Really easy thing to spot. Sit down, be comfortable, and look in the mirror (or ask somebody to grab a photo on your phone).

This isn't meant to be a super detailed fit guide. Just look at yourself and try to develop your own opinions. What fit issues are you okay with? What looks awful to you? Try the clothes on the way you are going to live in them, and see if they will work in real life.
