China on Sunday returned 17 Filipino sailors rescued from a shipwreck near Huangyan Dao to the Philippines.⁣

The sailors were saved after a Singapore-registered cargo ship, en route from the Philippines to China, lost contact near the area on Friday. 17 crew members were rescued but two of them were confirmed dead in the incident.⁣
