Plainfield police and the Will County Sheriff's office both responded to the home on multiple occasions and previously told NBC Chicago "there were no indications that anyone was in immediate danger based on the observations or information available to the responding officer(s)" and they "observed nothing suspicious."

In their latest update, the Will County Sheriff's office said "everything is locked or boarded up with no signs of anyone living there." They also revealed a cause for the lights.

"Upon further investigation, deputies have contacted the property owner, who told us that the lights are solar lights and are flashing due to being defective or low on power. The owner said the lights will be replaced soon," the sheriff's office said. "The Will County Sheriff’s Office will continue to, as always, follow up on suspicious activity and neighborhood concerns."
