In a recent episode of his In The Bayou podcast, Tyrann Mathieu opened up about the final months of his LSU career and the extreme, dangerous measures he took in a desperate attempt to avoid being dismissed from the program. Mathieu explained that after repeatedly being warned about failed drug tests, he began searching online for ways to pass, eventually coming across misinformation that suggested adding bleach to a drink could help. He recalled sitting outside the testing facility with a bottle of Coke and a cap full of bleach, believing it might “save his life,” only for it to immediately make him violently sick and cause him to throw up. Mathieu said the moment marked the realization that he had run out of options, as the plan backfired and did nothing to change his situation. He was ultimately dismissed from LSU, did not play during the 2012 season, and later declared for the NFL Draft.
