GIS stands for Geographic Information Systems, which are the mapping and data analysis technologies that allow us to visualize and understand our world! 🌐🛰️

Last quarter, the GISTAR M.A. program, the Center for Integrated Spatial Research, and the Drone & GIS Society at UCSC organized an exciting, campus-wide GIS Day celebration for GIS Week! 🎉

There were expert speakers, geo-trivia games, drone tech demos, and a student mapmaking competition! Slugs got hands-on with the tools for shaping the future of environmental solutions while also connecting with professionals in their field! 🤝
