FATAL HIT-AND-RUN: Police say one person is dead and another was injured in a hit-and-run crash on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley. 

According to investigators, two men had parked on a narrow shoulder to change a flat tire when they were struck by a passing car, and the driver then took off. The incident happened around 7 p.m. near Calabro Airport during the busy evening commute.
