COMMUTE ISSUES: Multiple Long Island Rail Road branches are seeing delays and cancellations Wednesday due to switch and equipment issues after Sunday’s storm and ongoing freezing temperatures.

Although the LIRR returned to a normal schedule yesterday, it couldn’t keep up with signal, switch and equipment problems. The disruptions left riders late and, in some cases, scrambling to other stations to catch trains that were running.
