In a relationship, it’s crucial to respect each other’s needs without seeking an escape route. Instead of pursuing a subservient partner, focus on understanding and validating your partner’s values. Your spouse IS NOT an accessory to your singleness!!!! Toughing it out through conflicts, while understanding and validating each other, builds a stronger bond. True fulfillment comes from navigating challenges together with resilience, forging a connection that withstands the tests of time. Let the passport be a tool for shared adventures, not an exit strategy.
Hold a Values Discussion Night. Set aside dedicated time to do some dream talk. It inspires and reminds us of the potential we both have and see in our spouse.

1. Practice intentional empathy. We have to do better at considering not only how our spouse affect us but consider how our actions impact them as well. This is how we flee narcissism.
2. Create a Values Manifesto. Purpose and Faith are core to many marriages. It’s a good idea to write down the values that define your relationship and revisit them when we feel like we’re veering off course.
3. Enduring challenges and conflicts together, rather than seeking an escape, contributes to the strength and resilience of the relationship. See conflict as an opportunity for growth and a chance to deepen your connection. I KNOW I KNOW…. EASIER SAID THAN DONE! I encourage you to prioritize understanding and validating each other’s values over external influences. These social media gender wars are just played out IMO (BUT THATS ANOTHER POST).
