Today, we begin to recognize and congratulate our Hall of Honor Class of 2026 honorees in the Faith & Service Category. 

Dennis Flynn '60, has been a part of the Benet family since the 1950’s as a student, parent, donor, and board member. He led the Benet Academy Board of Directors with prudence and wisdom as Chairman of the Board from May 2020 to May 2023. Along with his wife, Margie, Dennis established a Benet scholarship in the Flynn family name. Their support can be seen in every capital campaign, annual appeal, and sponsorship of special events. Dennis is the proud father and grandfather of many Benet graduates. 

Fr. Ed Kucera O.S.B. '45, graduated from St. Procopius in 1945, the beginning of what would become a lifetime of faithful service to God, his country, and our Benet Family. Fr. Ed professed vows in 1947 and was ordained in 1953. He served as Athletic Director at St. Procopius Academy, taught multiple subjects, and helped relocate the campus. A U.S. Air Force Chaplain for 20 years, he rose to colonel. At 81, he returned to Benet as chaplain, profoundly impacting generations through ministry and storytelling.

Peter Paul, dedicated 47 years of his life to teaching, coaching, and shaping generations of Benet students from 1969 to 2016. Pete was the consummate professional, well respected by colleagues and students alike. Winning over 600 games as the Girls Basketball coach, Pete was inducted into the IHSA and ESCC Coaches Hall of Fame. Pete embodied Benet's history, pillars, tradition and values in all he did.
