On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me: Christmas Cutouts! Now here’s the true MVP. Buttery sugar cookies topped with cheerful royal icing and sprinkles are usually the underdog in my house. There are so many other glitzier, more exciting cookies in rotation that we tend to forget about these subtle beauties. But when they’re the inevitable stragglers at the end of a big Christmas meal, there’s nothing better than their gentle vanilla sweetness.
