Heavy snow is becoming increasingly likely Saturday, with new guidance pushing totals higher.

One major wildcard is the snow ratio. With unusually cold air in place, snow will be drier and fluffier, allowing amounts to add up faster than a typical winter storm.

Cold and wind will also be high-impact. Expect gusty winds during and after the snow, with wind chills near or below zero in some areas.

The track remains key. In this video, I explain what needs to happen for the heaviest snow to push farther inland. The I-95 corridor needs close watching — a more inland track would mean higher totals and stronger winds, especially in the Northeast.

I’ll continue tracking this closely and keep you updated.
