## Caption

Noah Syndergaard set the tone immediately in Game 3 of the 2015 World Series. On the very first pitch, he threw a 98 mph fastball high and inside that flew near Alcides Escobar’s head, knocking him to the ground and firing up the Citi Field crowd. Syndergaard later admitted the pitch was meant to make the Royals uncomfortable and stop their aggressive first-pitch approach. 

Syndergaard went right back at him and struck him out on the next three pitches, finishing the at-bat with a 99-mph fastball. The message wasn’t just the brushback — it was backing it up immediately with a strikeout, showing total control and zero hesitation on the biggest stage.
