Golfing with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy ⛳️🏌‍♂️

Watching my body breakdown slowly over the last 11 years has been difficult.  It's most apparent on the golf course. What makes a good golf swing? Tempo, hip turn, and balance.  All of those I now lack. Gone are the days of athletic swing. I can't turn my front foot anymore.  I can't bend my knees. The swing is all arms, but I can't let it go.  The uphill lies are tough, the downhill lies worse but they can't compare to the lies in my own head.  The ones telling me to let it go. 

For a brief moment in time I have to block them out. On this 425 yard, par four, I am not worried about the wind or the bunkers. I'm focused on keeping myself upright. Just breathe, make good contact, and put a ball on the left side of the fairway.  Not all shots are going to be good ones like this but the fact that I keep swinging is all that matters. 

The marathon continues 🏁
