You’re looking at a future humanitarian 👉🏽 Claire Stewart.

When 6-year-old Claire was tasked by her teacher to research and write four facts about someone she considers a hero as an assignment, she chose none other than American Red Cross founder Clara Barton.

“She didn’t know that [Clara] worked for the Red Cross,” said her mother Elizabeth. “But I think she found a similarity in her name and went for it.”

Part of Claire’s research for her report involved visiting a TXGulfCoastRedCross chapter office in Corpus Christi, where she was in awe of the Red Cross buckets used to store and distribute clean-up items for people recovering from a disaster that destroyed their home.

“They have a bucket with all the supplies,” said Claire. “You need to clean your house after a disaster.”

While there, Claire suggested to her father that they should make a donation to the Red Cross, but when he replied to her that he wasn’t carrying any cash and would donate online when they got home, she pulled out $20 of birthday money from her purse and made a donation.

We’re so fortunate Claire chose Clara for her school assignment because it gave us the opportunity to cross paths with a real hero and future humanitarian. 🥰
