Alright.. I have decided to do something a little bit different. Instead of just making videos for the fun of it, I've decided to use this platform a bit more intentionally. For those of you that don't know, I am studying Contemplative Somatic Psychology at Naropa University. For those of you that have no idea what that means, I am going to start including some info and wisdom in my posts. 

Somatic psychology centers psychological exploration in the body. We live in a society that has dissociated the mind from the body, effectively cutting us off from our direct experience. This is a result of many cultural and evolutionary factors. How does the ability to record speech affect our experience of the body, if suddenly a mind can be contacted without a living body present to represent it? Maybe my audience is a bit more "woke" than some. Many of you practice yoga, slackline, spin poi, ski, rock climb, etc... to ground yourself in the present moment. But, a lot of people are so caught up in the distractions of the mind to even comprehend what groundedness is. This is why I feel somatic psychology is such an interesting field and it is why my hope is to be a catalyst for mind-body integration, a sort of rainbow in the dark. 😉🌈 

Ok I know this is a very wordy introduction, hence the ironic song choice. If you're still reading, I truly appreciate you. In future videos I hope to offer more succinct insight into the embodiment process. If nothing else, I hope it helps integrate all aspects of my life from my flow to my studies to my social life.
