DOGS RESCUED: Forty-eight dogs and puppies are now safe in Port Washington after being rescued from commercial breeding facilities in the Midwest.
 
North Shore Animal League America’s rescue team returned with the canines from Missouri on Sunday morning. The nonprofit partnered with its longtime collaborator, National Mill Dog Rescue, for the effort.
