Wow. John Lewis and CT Vivian. The Old Guard is taking their rest. 
My only regret is that I didn’t even know who these ppl were until I was an adult. My education was based on the perspective of who wrote the textbooks. So of course we got a paragraph about MLK and fake news about the Black Panthers and the NOI. Our education was truly white washed and it took news reports of health concerns or passings for me to learn who we really have out here. My kids are home schooled and I won’t make that mistake. They’ll learn the truth. Available now thanks to the internet and the storytellers who kept the truth alive. But also, I hope. My kids will see me as a black leader as well. May not take public office like my brothers and sisters that I’m so proud of. But by some of the choices I’m making right now, Building Legacy, and showing them what a good man is. Powerful. Connected to the community. Caring. Loving. Compassionate. Encouraging. Inspiring. Unstoppable. All things these men have shown us we have within. Rest easy brothers, we’ll take the reigns where we can. ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
