An off-duty Nassau police officer was killed after an alleged drunken driver ran a red light, according to Suffolk police and the Police Benevolent Association.

Patricia Espinosa was killed when Matthew Smith, of Hauppauge, drove through a red light and struck her vehicle, police said.
