Dr. Gladys West is most known for her work in developing the Global Positioning System, also known as GPS! She began her career at what is now known as the Naval Support Facility Dahlgren and became just the fourth African American employee there. In her 42 years of service, she worked on satellite geodesy and other satellite measurements that added to the accuracy of the GPS. Her work on the GPS has impacted nearly everyone, as it now exists on phones, in cars, and etc. #BlackHistoryMonth #TechInnovator
