🦟 Yeah, mosquitoes are annoying. But spraying them? That might do more harm than good.

Most mosquito sprays use pyrethroids—broad-spectrum insecticides that don’t just zap skeeters… they also take out bees, butterfly caterpillars, fireflies, and other insects that rely on your garden’s vegetation. Not exactly pollinator-friendly.

And it’s not just bugs. Pyrethroids have been linked to cognitive, reproductive, and cardiovascular issues in humans, too.

So what’s the alternative?

🌿 Biodiversity.
Mosquitoes are a vital part of the food web—pollinators, nutrient cyclers, and dinner for birds, bats, and dragonflies. Keeping the system in balance can help keep their numbers in check.

Here’s what helps:
• Dump standing water (even the tiny stuff)
• Use repellents + wear long sleeves
• Run a box fan—mosquitoes are weak flyers
• Support healthy predator populations in your garden
