This Valentine’s Day you just scored the hottest reservation in town: your house. I promise you no steakhouse will beat the meal I’m about to show you how to make step by step and not only to you get to save money, you get to show your love in the most thoughtful way. A homemade meal is the ultimate way to say I love you 💘 Starting off with the sides! My husband would argue that a perfectly cooked baked potato is the best thing on this plate and although I won’t pick a favorite, I will say he’s onto something. I’m also sharing the most simple yet delicious salad recipe that you should keep in your back pocket from now until forever. Full recipes below. The Cast Iron Filet Mignon with Red Wine Reduction and Chocolate Lava Cakes are coming later this week! 💘 Perfect Baked Potatoes! Ingredients: 4 medium russet potatoes Olive oil Kosher salt Toppings of choice (butter, sour cream, chives, freshly cracked black pepper) Instructions: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Scrub your potatoes clean and dry well with a paper towel or dish cloth. Rub the potatoes with olive oil and kosher salt until fully coated. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack and place a sheet pan below to catch any drippings. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the potatoes are tender when you pierce them with a knife. Slice in half lengthwise and serve with your desired toppings. Crispy Shallot Vinaigrette 1/2 cup olive oil 1 shallot, peeled and thinly sliced 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar 2 teaspoons honey 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Instructions: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the shallots and cook, stirring occasionally, until they’re deep golden brown, taking care not to burn them. Add the shallots and oil to a jar or bowl and combine with remaining ingredients. Keeps in the fridge 3-4 days. #valentinesdaydinner #athomedatenight #simplerecipes
