Create an interactive, web-based tool that helps governments and organizations align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) — that’s what Human Ecology faculty, students and campus partners on the SDG 360 Team set out to accomplish.

Lori DiPrete Brown — Civil Society & Community Studies distinguished faculty, Human Ecology Imperative Fellow and director of Global Health and Human Ecology — along with Civil Society & Community Research PhD student Shiqi Shen (Funmaker) and Assistant Professor of Design Studies Esther Kang, are members of the SDG 360 Thinking Team behind the innovative tool that creates instant, customizable wheel and matrix analysis visualizations.

A short training course on SDG 360 Thinking — led by DiPrete Brown, Shen and Nicole Weber, PhD student in environment and resources — was recently held with global leaders from various UW campuses, government agencies and nonprofits. Next year, course materials will be available to the public, and the tool will be rolled out in five languages.
