The second-ever Design Dash brought University of Wisconsin-Madison students together to tackle a real-world challenge: increase awareness and understanding of the University Health Services at UW-Madison (UHS) Badger Recovery program.

Open to students who identify as either in recovery from substance abuse, disordered eating or addictive behaviors, Badger Recovery at UW-Madison offers support and connection via peer-to-peer meetings, educational events and recovery coaching. Design dashers broke into teams to analyze Badger Recovery's strengths and opportunities, brainstorm actionable solutions and pitch recommendations to UHS leaders.

"The Design Dash was a great experience to be part of a team of designers and strategists with different perspectives to solving a problem," says Sofia More x'26, Community & Organizational Development student. "As a non-design major, I found it challenging and fun to collaborate with peers to help increase engagement and awareness of an important campus resource."

This event was made possible by interdisciplinary partnerships with the UW–Madison Office of Strategic Partnerships and UHS. Shout out to the Badgers who made this possible: Nathan Xiong, Jenna Cairns, Eleanor Treinen, Sophia Schultz, Isabelle van Wagenen, Amitabha Shatdal, Noe Fung, Chloe Guiou, Ava Pelz, Sofia More, Fifi Lipscomb and Bridget Flannery.
