Back at it again with our Chapter of the Week series! This week we celebrate Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., a uganphc chapter.

The Zeta Iota chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is the largest NPHC fraternity on campus with 16 members. Their fundraising efforts include St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Kappa League, and mental health awareness through their national "Are You Okay?" campaign. 

This week, the Nupes celebrate "Kappa Week" from April 21-24th, a four-day fundraising, professional development, and wellness event: 

· April 21 Pi a Nupe: Pie a member of the fraternity at the Tate Center
· April 22 Kultivating Wellness: Talking about ways to better your mental health
· April 23 Kommunity Service: Writing letters to hospitalized children to help raise their spirits
· April 24 Kareer Readiness: Working on skills and habits to build professionalism 

Not only are the members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. a vital part of our Greek community, they are also upstanding citizens in the Athens community. Last year, brother and alumni Rick Dunn (ABJ '93) was named a 2024 Fellowship inductee for the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication (ugagrady). As the founder of the Athens-Clarke County High School Completion Initiative, Dunn has provided opportunities for students ages 8-18 in low-income households to build a path out of poverty through education and training in broadcast media production.
