In an increasingly, and alarmingly, fascist country Mardi Gras, while particular to our region, presents an interesting counter point to how our country is spiraling. It is definitively good that political satire and criticism can still be shown, showcased, and performed in the streets. Swipe through to see the amazing work kreweduvieuxofficial did. 

As a political aside, I walked from Carrollton to Royal and back for Krewe De Vieux (I didn’t want to find parking) for EXACTLY 35 minutes of parade time, it was well worth it. Definitely walked away with a good bit of tendinitis in each Achilles too.
