Massaging the nose muscles, such as the nasalis, is important for several reasons:

Improves Circulation:
Massaging the nose increases blood flow, delivering oxygen and nutrients to the skin and muscles. This promotes healthy skin tone, reduces puffiness, and can even improve the appearance of the nose.

Supports Lymphatic Drainage:
Nose massage can help clear excess fluid through lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness and helping with nasal congestion or sinus issues.

Maintains Muscle Tone:
Regularly massaging the nose muscles can help maintain their tone and flexibility, which is beneficial for facial expressions and overall facial symmetry.

Reduces Tension and Discomfort:
Tension can build up in the nose and surrounding muscles, especially from sinus issues or habits like scrunching the nose. Massage can relieve this tension, making facial muscles feel more relaxed and at ease.

Massaging the nasalis after rhinoplasty is essential. During surgery, the nose is adjusted through cuts and re-sewing, which leads to inflammation in the area. This inflammation often creates fibrosis, causing subcutaneous fat to migrate around the nasalis. Over 5, 10, or 15 years, this process can result in collapsed muscles around the nose, with visible indentations.

Regular massage helps prevent this tissue collapse and fat migration by promoting blood flow to the muscles around the nose, keeping them nourished and maintaining the nose’s plump appearance.

Of course, a grace period should be respected—ideally at least one year after surgery—and approval from the surgeon is essential.

Nose massage promotes a healthy, balanced appearance and supports the overall harmony of the facial muscles.
