Starting a new job can be a lot. Braze Buddy is a new hire program that can make those first few months feel a little easier.

When Meng Chen, Senior Revenue Accountant, joined our NYC team, she was paired with Melissa Liu, Talent Development Generalist. The program is intentionally simple: new hires are matched with a more tenured Braze employee to connect outside the normal day-to-day of work.

For one of their meetups, Meng and Melissa decided to try wheel-throwing pottery together (messy, but worth it)!

“When I first started at Braze, I wasn’t sure what to expect,” Meng shared. “Then came the Braze Buddy program, and I couldn’t have asked for a better pairing and introduction to the culture here at Braze. We took on something new together, and I walked away with not only a mentor but also a friend!”

Melissa felt similarly: “Getting to know a new colleague from a different department over some messy clay was super fun, and building these cross-functional relationships is exactly what makes our onboarding program so special.”

Just people, a little time, and a small budget to spend together, because the best onboarding moments happen through real connection 🫶📸
