Celebrating a legend today! Happy 83rd birthday to Pieter Joon, the first ParaVolley inductee from the Netherlands into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame! 

From his role on the Paralympic volleyball technical committee for 20 years to his tireless work on countless boards and committees, Pieter has been a cornerstone in advancing the game. His leadership helped pave the way for the inclusion of Women’s Sitting Volleyball in the Paralympic Games in 1993 and the creation of World ParaVolley as a stand-alone entity in 1994. 

Pieter’s dedication to accessibility and inclusion has truly transformed the world of volleyball, leaving an enduring legacy for generations to come. Thank you, Pieter, for everything you’ve done for the sport!
