#MoodySpotlight: Growing up, senior Fernanda Herreria has always been drawn to creative hobbies like drawing, photography and dance. Advertising felt like the perfect way to combine Fernanda’s creativity with a business focus. She was especially interested in #TEXASMoody’s Texas Media & Analytics sequence and the “learning by doing” approach, which allows students to gain real-world experience through projects, campaigns and client pitches while learning industry standards and best practices.

Fernanda chose Moody College for its community. “From my first tour, it was clear that the school has incredible professors and talented peers. I was inspired by the creative yet welcoming environment.” Fernanda said attending #TEXASMoody was the best decision she made! And now she’s a Dean’s Ambassador, giving tours to prospective students!

During her four years at Moody, Fernanda has learned from incredible professors, made lifelong friends, and gained opportunities she wouldn’t have found elsewhere. These included experiences across the country and internationally. She studied abroad in Spain during her junior year, which was the highlight of her college experience.

Fernanda is currently interning at Legend Labs, but she also has a variety of internships under her belt, including Ogilvy New York, RPA and her favorite, Dentsu. “My favorite memory was getting to work on the collaborations between Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish with The Summer I Turned Pretty!”

You can find Fernanda giving tours to visitors and prospective students around Moody College or studying on the first floor of DMC. “It’s easy for me to share why I love this school, and it’s so rewarding to see students thrive once they join Moody. I also enjoy working at events for current students, which makes the experience feel full circle and really special.” And when the sun is out, she relaxes at Barton Springs!

This semester, Fernanda looks forward to joining UT’s 2026 National Student Advertising Competition team. Best of luck representing Moody College!
