Watch the Game Highlights from Ole Miss Rebels at No. 18 Vanderbilt Commodores, 01/31/2026

No. 18 Vanderbilt led from start to finish Saturday, holding off Ole Miss for a 71-68 win at Memorial Gymnasium.

The Commodores set the tone early, forcing turnovers and turning them into offense to control the first half. Vanderbilt did not trail before the break, scoring 12 points off nine Ole Miss turnovers. A Tyler Harris fast-break dunk pushed the lead to 13 with 5:50 remaining, but the Rebels answered with an 8-0 Run to close the gap. Vanderbilt steadied itself late in the half and carried a 31-23 advantage into halftime.

Ole Miss came out strong in the second half, cutting the deficit to three in the opening minutes. Vanderbilt responded with an 11-3 run to reestablish control, but the Rebels continued to chip away. With just over three minutes remaining, Ole Miss pulled within two.

Vanderbilt answered at the free-throw line and from deep. Jalen Washington knocked down two free throws, and Mike James followed with a three-pointer to push the lead back to seven. Ole Miss again made it a one-possession game with a three-pointer with 45 seconds left, trimming the score to 70-68.

AK Okereke was fouled with 15.9 seconds remaining and split a pair at the line, extending the lead to three. Ole Miss had two chances to tie in the final moments, but neither attempt fell as Vanderbilt closed it out.

Tyler Tanner led the Commodores (19-3, 6-3 SEC) with 24 points, his eighth 20-point game of the season. Okereke added 17 points and went 11-for-13 at the free-throw line, while James finished with nine points and nine rebounds.

Malik Dia and AJ Storr scored 16 points apiece for Ole Miss (11-10, 3-5 SEC), and Ilias Karmadine added 14. The teams finished even on the glass, while Ole Miss committed 17 turnovers to Vanderbilt’s 16.
