While promoting her new book with wife Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart, Da Brat explained why joining Real Housewives of Atlanta never felt like the right fit. Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly on Tuesday, February 3, the 51-year-old rapper admitted the idea alone made her uneasy.⁠

“It, kind of, has been a little conversation,” she said. “I’m scared. [There’s going to be] conflict. They’re gonna throw something at you to make you want to be mad.”⁠

Da Brat said she understands the formula that drives the long-running Bravo franchise and knows the drama is intentional.⁠
⁠
“That’s just the way that it goes on those shows that brings the viewers, and you know that is going to happen,” she continued. “So, I just didn’t want to be that person because I feel like they know my temper is pretty short, and they’re definitely going to try me.”⁠

“We’ve told so much of our story on our reality show, Brat Loves Judy,” she explained. “I think we might revisit it… but if we get the opportunity to do it later when [our 2-year-old son] is a bit older, we might dive into it.”
