From one spark to a movement: Parker turned her passion into action by founding univofalabama's very own collarscholars_ua puppy raising club! 🐾🐶 

The Collar Scholars program is a collegiate puppy raising club in which students raise puppies on behalf of Canine Companions - with the mission of preparing them to become future #servicedogs. 🐕‍🦺

Parker was initially inspired when she learned about tustep.tulane and step_ucf, while she was touring their campuses. And when she decided to attend The University of Alabama, she was determined to start a club there.

Since launching the club in the fall of 2025, over 30 students have already expressed their interest! 🙌 

“I think the mission is incredible,” says Parker. “My mom is a pediatric physical therapist, and growing up around her and seeing the compassion she brings to her patients and seeing the capability of what people can do is very inspiring for me. Puppies get everyone excited. When you’re a student and away from home, you might be missing your pets, so these puppies we get to raise also bring us comfort.”

Parker and her club members believe deeply in increasing quality of life through service dogs. From fundraisers to future 5Ks - they're excited to educate and make an #impact on campus and beyond. 💛💙
