“If pictorial expression has changed, it is because modern life has necessitated it.” —Fernand Léger

The French artist Fernand Léger was #BornOnThisDay in 1881. To celebrate, we’re sharing Head of a Woman, a 1952 screen print from our collection.

Did you know that Léger was featured in seven Carnegie Internationals during his lifetime? His work was exhibited in the 1935, 1936, 1937, 1938, 1950, 1952, and 1955 editions.

Head to the link in our bio and browse our collection site to see more of Léger’s work in our collection.
