Three new North Atlantic right whale calves were sighted by CMA Research Institute aerial survey teams over the last few days! 🐋🐋🐋 There are now 14 new right whale calves documented so far this calving season! 💙

Mantis (right whale catalog #1620) and her calf were photographed east of Kiawah Island, South Carolina on Friday, December 26, 2025. On Saturday, December 27, two more right whale mom-calf pairs were located! Juno (catalog  #1612) and her new calf were sighted east of Wassaw Island, Georgia, while Binary (catalog #3010) and her new calf were sighted east of Blackbeard Island, Georgia. Both Mantis and Juno are estimated to be over 40 years old. This is Juno's 9th known calf and Mantis' 8th known calf. Binary is over 26 years old and this is her 4th known calf.
