A girlfriend of mine captured this moment where I was holding my toddler using my pregnant belly for support, all while she fell asleep eating a mandarin orange. 😂 I don’t know why I love this photo so much but I do 🥹💕 I think it’s a moment every mom can relate to. You don’t even realize how uncomfortable you are when you see how comfortable you have made your baby. ❤️

Holding her isn’t easy, especially pregnant and having not just one, but two abdominal hernias. Yet, there’s nothing else I would rather do. 🥹 Becoming a mother makes you sacrifice in a way you didn’t think you would ever be able to do. 

I remember being young and seeing moms lose sleep and wrangle kids, and thought I could never do it. 

I remember having my first and seeing that I could in fact do it (barely) but there was no way I could do it again. 

I remember having my second, now having 2 under 2, and seeing yet again I could do it (barely) but there is no way I could do it again. 

I remember having my third, now having 3 under 3, and seeing I could do it but it kicked my butt so hard I for sure thought, “This is it”

Given I am now pregnant with baby number 7 you can guess how the rest goes. 😉

My point is, I’m not the same person I was pre kids, after kid number 1, or after kid number 2, or kid number 3 and so on. Each child brought new meaning to my life. Each child taught me something new about the world, motherhood, patience, sacrifice, and love. 

I use to think sacrifice was bad. Why would I intentionally be uncomfortable? But motherhood flips that whole narrative on its head, doesn’t it? 

Sacrifice is good. It means giving something up of comfort now for something so much greater in the future.

Nothing in life worth having comes easy 💕
