A Paralympic Medalist, a leader on and off the court, and a true trailblazer 💫

Looking back at the historic international debut of the Northern Lights, Erika Schmutz shared her perspective on the evolution of women in wheelchair rugby. From being the first woman to score a try at the Paralympic Games to now being a part of Canada’s Northern Lights, Erika has seen the sport change firsthand. 🏐

This #IDWGS, she reflects on why a women’s environment is a “new doorway” for the sport and the grassroots change she hopes to see for the next generation of athletes🍁

Première femme à avoir marqué un essai aux Jeux paralympiques, Erika fait désormais partie des Northern Lights canadiennes et a vu de ses propres yeux l'évolution de ce sport.
