a summary:
On Friday Feb. 6, an approximate estimate of 300 students gathered in the Paso Robles High School quad in front of the 1000's building to protest against ICE after the 5th period bell rang at 2:27 pm. They then walked off campus and about a mile to Niblick Bridge, holding signs and chanting "Immigrants are here to stay . . . Paso taught us to be proud . . . Immigrants should be allowed." The student-organized protest  began and was led by students Jesus Ursulo and Lyric Johnson, was advertised on social media and with printed flyers, and included an Instagram group-chat of roughly 120 students collaborating about the event less than a week prior. The protest was planned to continue until 4 pm. 

essential details:
- the protest was entirely STUDENT-ORGANIZED
- PRJUSD, Paso Robles High School, and teachers were not associated, did not organize, plan, advertise, push, or require students to attend
- The walkout protest began during a  passing period between 5th and 6th period. Students that attended only missed one period at the end of the day (6th)
- Students were excused from their absence if parents emailed beforehand. Under California Senate Bill 955, middle-school to high-school students are legally required one school-day long excused absence (per school year) for participation in a civic or political event
- Parent volunteers were present at the event to ensure the safety and legality of the students and the protest
- Violence was not accepted at the protest. Water bottles were thrown at a car, however was shut down quickly. No further violence occurred.
- Students were seen flipping cars off and using vulgar language. Many cars (driven by adults) were initially flipping off, 'thumbs downing,' and yelling at protesting students.
