You were never just my dog — you were my soulmate.
Stoic, steady, and sacred. You walked beside me through every life change, every becoming. You saved my life when I was at my lowest, and you stayed when everything else fell away.

I feel you now beyond the physical — in the sun on my skin, in the wind when it finds me, in the love that still surrounds me. The messages you send are many, and I receive them. Every time I close my eyes, I see your face. Your beautiful face. 

Now I understand the visions of you running freely toward me, full of joy. Now I understand the dreams three days before you passed, and the message my son in heaven sent me — that he was coming to guide you home.

Thank you for trusting me sweet boy. It was a great honor to love you, protect you, and carry you when your heart began to give out. I will tell my grand babies about you — about the dog who saved my life, about the dog I loved so deeply. There will never be another you.
