🚨EMERGENCY🚨 DEBRIEF: Lindsey Vonn broken leg

After deciding to compete in the women’s downhill event on a torn ACL , Lindsey Vonn crashes 13 seconds into her run. This has nothing to do with her torn ACL, she hit a gate, loses her balance and was airlifted to hospital. 

Her bindings didn’t release which caused additional damage. 

American Breezy Johnson went on to win the downhill event, USA’s first medal of these games. Gold. She becomes  the second American woman to win the Olympic downhill event, Vonn was the first 16 years ago. 

Ironically, Johnson crashed in Cortina in 2022, missing Bejing and I i think her post after the crash, puts everything from today into perspective.
