At just 19 years old, a Germantown resident became the youngest engineering graduate in UMD’s Cyber-Physical Systems Engineering (CPSE) program, which is conveniently located in Montgomery County at the @uatshadygrove in Rockville, MD.

His journey from Montgomery County Public Schools to @montgomerycollege and ultimately the University of Maryland @univofmaryland is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when local education creates opportunity.

“Today, Alim works full-time as a research engineer…where he applies his…background in electrical and computer engineering to diamond technology projects. His work includes contributing to groundbreaking, Department of Energy–sponsored research as well as a NASA-affiliated project focused on developing diamond power electronics for space applications.”
