Today, Lindsey Vonn was injured in the Olympic downhill and airlifted from the hill after a violent crash — a stark reminder of how unforgiving this sport can be.

Yes, she was racing with a knee brace.
Yes, she was skiing with a ruptured ACL.

But those facts have never been the point.

Lindsey has already proven everything this sport ever asked of her. She shows up because she still loves ski racing — and because courage doesn’t have an expiration date.
