Thousands of fans of the television show "Survivor" (survivorcbs) descended on Cape Meares on Jan. 31 to search for a hidden immunity idol as part of a nationwide challenge celebrating the show’s 50th season. 

Participants stood in line for hours to scan a QR code and upload a photo to be entered for a chance to win a trip to Los Angeles for the live season finale in May.
