As the year comes to an end, 
It has me reflecting a lot 

And I think back to the days when I started working out 
How it felt impossible
I felt guilty all the time 
I felt like I would never get stronger 
I couldn’t find the motivation
And I always felt bad for taking time away from the kids 

But what I realized very quickly was 
That every little step counts 
I was modelling healthy habits for my kids 
I was able to show up as a better mom, more energized and happier 
I was proving to my kids that you can achieve anything you put your mind to 

And witnessing what it did to my kids is something that motivates me now every day 

They wanted to move their bodies too
They wanted to know what my goals were and cheer me on
They wanted to set their own goals and work hard to achieve them 
They valued hard work and pushing their limits and witnessing me do the same 

Becoming active this year and prioritizing self care did the things I thought it would.. it changed my body, gave me more energy and made me happier 

But it did way more than that. It made me a better person, it healed me in ways I never could have imagined and most importantly, it made me an even better mom 

So if you’re looking for some motivation, or if you’re feeling guilty about prioritizing yourself this season, let this be your sign that it is not selfish! 

You deserve happiness and health and your kids will thank you for it ❤️❤️❤️
