Our next #MoodySpotlight of 2026 is utcommstudies student, Catherine DaMoude, from Longview, TX. She’s also pursuing her minor in professional sales and business development. Cat chose #TEXASMoody because of the different opportunities to grow, both professionally and creatively.

“The professors are truly supportive and experienced in their fields, which makes the classes feel engaging instead of just something to sit through. Every semester, I’ve taken courses that have actually challenged me and excited me about what I’m learning. Overall, Moody just felt like the place where I could thrive and make the most out of my college experience.”

Cat is studying corporate communications because it combines everything that she’s drawn to, such as PR, marketing and advanced communication skills. She said communication studies isn’t one-dimensional; there is room to explore different interests while preparing students for a professional path. “It feels like the right mix of creative and practical, and it aligns with the kind of work I can actually see myself doing in the future.”

“My Moody experience has been amazing because this college gives students so many opportunities that you honestly don’t get anywhere else at UT. Whether it’s events like The Lost Bus screening, guest speakers, or hands-on projects, there’s always something going on that pushes you to grow and feel connected to the field.”

Cat believes #TEXASMoody is the best college on campus because of the professors, resources and community. She said being part of Moody College has made her excited about her future and proud to be in a college that invests so much in its students.

She’s also a social media intern with Moody College and she’s looking forward to collaborating with the MarComm team on fun and engaging content. Cat is also excited to attend Texas Athletics’ spring games and make new friends. We can’t wait to see what you’ll do this semester, Cat!
