TRANSIT ALERT: Service on the LIRR Ronkonkoma branch was partially suspended early Tuesday after a car fire on the tracks near Farmingdale station. 

Firefighters put out the blaze just before 3 a.m.  Several trains were held while crews removed the vehicle and began track repairs. Service initially resumed on only one of two tracks, leading to residual delays of 15 to 80 minutes.
