Valentine’s Day in London doesn’t have to mean prix-fixe menus or packed dining rooms. Some of the most romantic moments in this city are slower and simpler: a winter walk just before sunset, a candlelit table that feels like a secret, a perfectly made martini somewhere timeless.

If you’re planning something romantic (but still approachable), here are just a few places that instantly came to mind…

Romantic Walks
• Little Venice → Regent’s Park via the canal – Narrowboats, waterside cafés and quiet towpaths. It feels impossibly peaceful for somewhere so close to central London.

Candlelight Dining
• Sessions Arts Club – Set inside a restored courthouse with softly faded frescoes and soaring windows. The food is lovely, yes, but the atmosphere is what really left an impression.

Cozy (but Chic) Pubs for Two
• The Pelican – Candlelit tables, rich wood interiors and that perfect balance of neighborhood warmth and polished Notting Hill energy. Every dish we ordered was a stand-out.

Dessert & Sweet Stops
• Birley Bakery – Marble counters, old-world elegance and pastries that make your life feel like a rom-com. Forget the box of chocolates.

Cocktails with Atmosphere
• The Red Room – Overshadowed by its famous sibling, but I might prefer it. Glamorous, art-filled and intimate. A jewel box of a bar that feels made for Valentine’s Day.
