Today (11 February) marks the birthday of American singer and songwriter Khalid, who was launched into the spotlight after the release of his 2017 album ‘American Teen’.

Khalid, who is gay, was outed on social media by an ex-partner in 2024. Khalid initially described the experience as ‘nasty’ and ‘triggering’ but went on to publicly embrace his sexuality, calling it a ‘blessing in disguise’.

In a post to his X account in November 2024 addressing his outing, Khalid wrote, “I got outed and the world still continues to turn. I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality, it ain’t nobody’s business! But I am okay with me.”
