Felt real to me 🤷‍♀️

Even when it’s beautiful outside, the treadmill is a staple in my training. It’s a great tool for even pacing, uphill workouts, and easily accessible fueling. Yes, it can be boring, but it’s not “soft” or “fake.”

This was one of my uphill treadmill threshold workouts, and, I can assure you, when the treadmill is at 8%, those miles are about as real as they come 😂 During these workouts, I base my pacing off of heart rate data I get from my corosglobal Pace 4 and arm HR monitor. I increase my pace until my HR is in the threshold zone and then I hang out there, adjusting as necessary throughout the workout. It’s great having data from COROS because I know it’s accurate and something I can rely on to dictate my pacing 👏

My COROS also tracks the elevation gain, which is so nice on uphill days. All you have to do to get elevation is select “indoor run” mode, scroll down to “grade”, set it to whatever you have the treadmill at, and then press start. You can also pause the activity and change the grade throughout the workout if you’re running a variety of grades!

Workout details:
20min WU
3x30sec strides
4x6min threshold (2min jog rest)
4x4min threshold (2min jog rest)
5x2min progressing (1min jog rest)
12min CD
Everything at 8% grade for 11 miles and 4705ft of vertical gain 💪
