If you were to design the perfect wide receiver in a video game, you’d end up with Calvin Johnson. Standing 6'5" and 237 pounds with 4.35 speed, he earned the nickname "Megatron" from teammate Roy Williams because his physical attributes were literally "not from this planet." While most big receivers are "possession" guys, Calvin was a deep-threat nightmare who could outrun safeties and jump over triple-coverage.

His 2012 season remains the stuff of legend. In a league filled with elite talent, Johnson put up 1,964 receiving yards—a record that has survived the transition to the 17-game schedule and a decade of pass-heavy offenses.

In 2026, he remains the ultimate "What If" and the undisputed "Goat of the Gridiron.”
